Choosing an agent for Weidian orders
Start with the part nobody says out loud: every shopping agent does the same four things. It buys the item with a Chinese account, receives it at a warehouse, photographs it, and ships it abroad. The marketing differs enormously. The machinery does not.
So the question is not which agent is best. It is which one is least annoying for the thing you are about to buy, in the country you live in.
What differs
Five things that genuinely vary between agents
These are the ones worth ten minutes of comparison. Everything else is branding.
Which platforms it accepts
Not every agent takes Weidian links cleanly. Some name Taobao and 1688 only, and Weidian goes in through a self-help form instead. The shortest way to confirm is to look for Weidian in the page title of the agent own buying page. Sugargoo, Superbuy and CSSBuy all list it; check yours before you paste anything.
How it charges
Some agents take a service fee as a percentage of the item. Some take nothing visible and make the margin on the currency conversion or the freight. Neither is dishonest, but they are not comparable by looking at one number.
Free storage before you have to ship
Storage windows are what let you consolidate. The length varies by agent and changes with promotions, so read the current figure on the agent own page rather than any guide.
Which routes it can actually offer you
The line list depends on your country, and carriers suspend routes. The agent we use posted a notice in June 2026 that China Post services to the twenty seven European Union countries were temporarily suspended, which is exactly the kind of thing that decides an order. Hoobuy and Orientdig publish the same sort of notice; nobody emails it to you.
How you reach a human
Chat, ticket, email, community. It matters only once, on the day something goes wrong, and on that day it matters more than everything above.
Fees
Why a fee comparison is harder than it looks
An agent can make money in at least three places: a service fee on the item, the exchange rate it gives you, and the margin on international freight. Two agents can advertise the same headline and cost different amounts on the same parcel, because the money is taken in different places.
Third party sites do publish measured comparisons across agents. They are useful and they go stale fast, so treat any table you find, including one dated last month, as a starting point rather than as a fact. We deliberately publish no fee numbers here for the same reason.
When an agent is the right tool, and when it is not
This is the section we have the least commercial reason to write, which is probably a reason to read it.
Worth using an agent
- The shop only ships inside China, which on Weidian is nearly all of them
- You want several shops combined into one box
- You want somebody to look at the item before it flies
- The item does not exist outside China at any sane price
Skip the agent
- The same item sits in a local warehouse near you for a similar total
- You need it within a week
- It is a liquid, an aerosol or a loose battery that will not fly anyway
- The total value is low enough that freight is most of the bill
Which agent this guide points at, and why we are not neutral
We send orders to LoongBuy, we are its partner, and we earn from referrals. That is the reason this site exists and you should weigh what you read here accordingly.
The reasons we use it, so you can check them rather than take them: it supports Weidian links explicitly, it runs an English interface with a currency switch, it publishes a shipping estimator, and its help centre is organised into sections a beginner can navigate. Its site footer carries a copyright line running from 2012.
None of that makes it the cheapest. On the measurement in the table above Sugargoo landed lower on both the markup and the freight line, and if you are willing to wait the extra month Sugargoo costs you, that gap is real money. What we will not do is invent numbers or hide the paragraph above about when to use nobody at all.
Two things to open before you commit
Both are official pages. Read them on the day you order, not on the day you read this.

Common questions about agents
Short answers. Anything about money is the agent decision.
Is a shopping agent the same as a forwarder?
No. A forwarder receives a parcel you already bought and sends it on. An agent buys the item for you first, which is the part that matters on Weidian, because paying the seller is the step you cannot do from abroad.
Can I use more than one agent?
Yes, and people do, usually to test service. The cost is that items sitting in two warehouses cannot be consolidated into one box.
Does the agent guarantee the item is genuine?
No agent verifies authenticity on your behalf, and you should be suspicious of any that claims to. What it does is photograph what arrived so that you can decide.
What happens if the item never reaches the warehouse?
That is a dispute with the seller, which the agent handles because the agent is the buyer of record. Look for the after sales section of the help centre before you need it.
What a shopping agent is, in one paragraph
A shopping agent is a company in China that buys it for you and then posts it on. You never deal with the shop. You hand over a link, the agent pays the seller with a Chinese account and a Chinese address, the parcel lands in the agent warehouse, and from there you decide what happens next.
Two consequences follow from that and both matter. The agent is the buyer of record, so any argument with the seller is the agent argument to have, not yours. And the thing you bought sits in a building you have never seen for as long as you leave it there, which is why storage limits turn out to be a real number rather than a footnote.
That is the entire mechanism. Everything else, the photographs, the consolidation, the route choice, is detail hanging off those two facts.
Why shop through an agent at all
Many Weidian sellers primarily serve domestic buyers. If your listing does not support your payment method, language or delivery address, an agent can handle the local purchase and receive the item in China. Check the seller’s available options before deciding.
What an agent gets you beyond the address problem: one parcel instead of five, a look at the goods before they fly, and somebody to argue with the seller in Chinese. What it costs you: a conversion spread, a wait while everything gathers, and a second pair of hands between you and the thing.
Compare the agent route with a seller that already delivers to your destination. For a small single item, freight can exceed the item price. For electronics, ask explicitly whether any functional testing is available; standard appearance photos do not prove that a device works.
Agents worth considering, and what each one is good for
These are not ranked, and we are not going to rank them. Service quality, how an agent behaves when something goes wrong, and how fast a reply comes have no public dataset behind them, so a league table would be an opinion wearing a number. What does have a dataset is cost, so that is what the table carries, measured by a third party on one day across the same basket.
Compare the converted purchase total, service charges and shipping together. A zero service-fee headline alone does not describe the amount you will pay.
| Agent | All-in markup | Free storage | US, 1 kg |
|---|---|---|---|
| LoongBuy | +2.0% | 90 days | $23.73 / 10-20 days |
| Sugargoo | +0.4% | 100 days | $19.36 / 30-60 days |
| CSSBuy | +6.4% (6% service fee) | 90 days | not measured |
| Superbuy | +8.6% | 90 days | $28.30 / 30-45 days |
| Hoobuy | +11.1% | 90 days | $24.32 / 9-15 days |
| Orientdig | +12.2% | 90 days | $36.64 / 8-17 days |
All figures from a dated same-basket comparison, read 2026-10-08, same basket across every agent. Rates move. Treat the table as the shape of the market on one day, not as a quote.
Use this dated sample to decide which live estimators to compare. Enter the same destination, contents, weight and dimensions for each agent. Confirm the available route, estimated transit time and any included taxes in its current terms; these vary by shipment.
How to choose a spreadsheet site, including this one
Lists of Weidian finds are easy to publish and hard to keep, which is why there are so many and why most of them rot. Three questions separate the two kinds, and all three take about a minute.
Open five listings in the category you actually came for and count how many are dead. Shops close constantly, so one dead link is normal and four is a list nobody has touched this year. Next, look for a date and work out what it refers to: a site updated every week in the footer and never in the categories is telling you about its footer. Last, see whether the figures on the page name a source and a reading date, because a number without either is a number you cannot check after it goes stale.
Run all three on this guide too. That is what the reading log is for, and it is also why nothing here quotes you a price.
